If I were to take this home I would use it for small bamboo stalks. Soapstone from southern china made around the 1920’s. This large carving was designed to hold 6 flower arrangements. The Dragon and the sphinx are as old thyme as it gets. There are two other birds present both look like Vultures. The carving is very good with a lot of openwork and great detail to the birds and vines. This fine piece must weigh Approx 20 pounds. This sculpture measures Approx 13” / 33cm long and Approx5.5” / 14cm wide.

S. Kirk & Son" Sterling, the mark used from 1932 to 1961 out of Baltimore. This Sterling Silver two piece Gravy Boat measures: 7.75 inches from spout to handle, 4 inches high and 4.75 inches wide. The matching bottom is marked S Kirk & Son Inc., sterling and numbered 4101. Bottom tray measures: almost 7.85 inches long and 5 inches wide. Monogrammed with G not a deep engraving.
